Job Summary: The Vice President of Desktop Engineering & Digital Workplace will lead strategy, design, and hands-on implementation of several end-user computing platforms and digital workplace technologies. This role will drive the organization's transition toward a modern, secure, and user-centric digital workplace leveraging Windows Modern Management, Microsoft Intune, Active Directory, Entra ID, and Mobile Device Management. The VP will maintain governance over operational resources, oversee patch management, collaborate closely on vendor relationships, and actively participate in budgeting processes, while continuously driving service improvements and prioritizing exceptional end-user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on defining, designing, and directly implementing the global strategy for desktop engineering and digital workplace platforms, emphasizing security, productivity, and world-class user experience.
  • Execution of hands-on engineering and deployment initiatives, particularly in Windows Modern Management (WMM), including zero-touch deployment, autopilot, and cloud-first approaches.
  • Oversee architecture, deployment, and continuous enhancement of Microsoft Intune, ensuring effective device management, compliance policies, security standards, and hands-on troubleshooting.
  • Develop, engineer, and operationally support Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions to securely manage corporate mobile devices, ensuring compliance, security, and user satisfaction.
  • Collaborate extensively with security, compliance, and infrastructure teams to integrate endpoint security, vulnerability management, threat detection, and incident response capabilities.
  • Drive innovation through hands-on technology selection, implementation of automation, analytics, utilization of AI-driven solutions, and optimization of end-user services.
  • Provide governance and technical leadership to operations teams, ensuring standards, patching compliance, operational best practices, and continuous service improvements.
  • Work directly with senior leadership on vendor relationship management, contract negotiations, budgeting, and cost management.
  • Establish and manage KPIs and metrics to measure and continuously improve operational effectiveness, efficiency, and end-user satisfaction.
  • Lead initiatives for cross-platform automation, leveraging advanced scripting and automation techniques to streamline and improve operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent professional experience may be substituted. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive hands-on and leadership experience in desktop engineering, endpoint management, and digital workplace transformation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Windows Modern Management frameworks, Microsoft Intune, and cloud-based management solutions.
  • In-depth technical knowledge and direct experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, including large-scale identity management implementations.
  • Proven experience engineering and operationally managing Mobile Device Management solutions primarily for the Apple devices.
  • Demonstrated experience in patch management and operational governance.
  • Strong expertise in scripting (Powershell) and cross-platform automation tools and techniques.
  • Proven background with DevOPS / Configuration as Code. Azure DevOPS and Github are preferred.
  • Experience in leveraging AI to enhance end-user computing solutions and operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and strategic-thinking skills, with the ability to manage and influence across technical teams.
  • Experience in vendor relationship management, budget planning, and cost optimization.
  • Data-driven, with a proven track record of utilizing KPIs and analytics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Extensive experience engineering, deploying, and managing enterprise collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Slack, Zoom), optimizing productivity, security, and user experience.
  • Experience implementing and managing Mobile Message Archival solutions, with deep understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, able to effectively engage at both technical and executive levels.

This role reports to the Head of Global End User Engineering and collaborates closely with infrastructure teams and senior leadership to advance the organization’s digital workplace strategy and end-user computing environment.
