About the role  

An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Data Governance Lead within Data &Analytics at Davy.

This role is ideal for a motivated and adaptable self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can deliver work to tight deadlines. The successful candidate will be a strong team player who can also take ownership of individual tasks and contribute to the organisation’s data governance objectives.

This position plays a key role in strengthening data quality, regulatory compliance, and data controls across the organisation. You will help ensure that data supporting reporting, risk management, and customer processes is accurate, secure, and governed to industry standards.

In the role, the successful candidate will: 

  • Assist with the implementation of data governance policies to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with all areas of the organisation to develop and implement practical solutions and drive data governance best practices.
  • Lead data quality initiatives for key datasets (risk, finance, customer, product)
  • Capture data lineage and documentation for critical reporting
  • Support the business glossary, critical data element definitions, and data catalogue processes
  • Participate in projects and deliver ad hoc tasks as required.

About you

We are looking for somebody who has the following background and skills: 

  • 5+ years data governance experience, ideally in a financial services environment
  • Strong understanding of data governance, controls, and regulatory requirements  (e.g., BCBS 239, the GDPR, EU AI Act)
  • A high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with data and data governance tools is an advantage, e.g. SQL. Snowflake, Power BI, Informatica, OneTrust, Purview.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver complex information clearly and professionally.
  • Proactive and collaborative approach, with confidence to build relationships and engage stakeholders across the organisation.
