About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Site Operative with a Telehandler Ticket who is looking to progress into a CSA Supervisor role. This is a hands-on position combining site operations with increasing responsibility across plant and equipment, procurement, timesheets and site coordination. Working closely with our experienced management team across Civils, Architectural, Mechanical and Electrical, you will gain valuable exposure to the wider construction process and develop the skills required to progress into site supervision. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is confident on site, takes initiative and is ready to move from a predominantly hands-on role into site supervision and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support across day-to-day site activities.
  • Operate telehandler equipment safely and effectively on busy construction projects.
  • Assist with the movement and coordination of materials, plant and equipment.
  • Maintain high standards of site housekeeping, organisation and presentation.
  • Assist with general site maintenance and operational requirements.
  • Support the management of plant and equipment hire.
  • Assist with procurement of materials, equipment and site requirements.
  • Maintain personnel timesheets and relevant site records.
  • Support the site management team with day-to-day coordination and administration.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving operational issues on site.
  • Develop an understanding of the coordination of different trades and construction activities.
  • Work closely with supervisors, engineers, project managers and subcontractors.
  • Take on increasing levels of responsibility as experience and capability develop.
  • Work towards assuming greater supervisory responsibility within the project team.

Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a skilled construction/site operative.
  • Valid Telehandler Ticket and good practical experience operating telehandlers on busy construction projects.
  • Good understanding of general construction site activities.
  • Strong awareness of health, safety and quality requirements.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a wider project team.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Good computer skills and confidence using standard Microsoft Office applications.
  • Practical and proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently when required.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Strong interest in progressing towards a career in site supervision and construction management.
