Alliance Automotive Group (AAG) are a leading distributor of passenger and commercial vehicle parts to the independent automotive aftermarket. We operate in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Poland, and Netherlands.

We are a subsidiary of Genuine Parts Company (GPC) and the home of NAPA racing UK, competing in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) and Title Sponsor of the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship.

Due to the continued growth of the group, we are now looking to recruit for a Credit Controller for our NAPA Auto Parts business in Ireland. The role will be based at the AAG site in Parkwest Business Park, Dublin 12.

The accounting system is an industry specific package called MAM. This is a windows system and is intuitive for users familiar with any other windows-based accounting package. Training will be provided as required.

Description

As a Credit Control Manager, you will be responsible for managing the credit control team and ensuring the efficient and effective collection of outstanding debts from customers. You will develop and implement credit control strategies and policies, monitor the creditworthiness of customers, and make decisions regarding credit limits and payment terms. You will also analyse and report on the credit control function, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the credit control team, providing leadership, guidance, and support
  • Develop and implement credit control strategies and policies to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts
  • Monitor the creditworthiness of customers and make decisions regarding credit limits and payment terms
  • Proactively identify and resolve credit control issues and escalate them when necessary
  • Perform regular credit risk assessments and provide recommendations to senior management
  • Analyse and report on the credit control function, including debtor days, aging reports, and bad debt provision
  • Ensure compliance with credit control regulations and guidelines
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Sales and Finance, to improve credit control processes and resolve customer disputes

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller, Debt Collector, or in a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of credit management and collection procedures.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle difficult conversations.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
