You will be the grocery finance analyst for the Irish sales team, working across a wide remit of activities including tracking actuals performance, forecasting, managing month end, correct accruals management and acting as the teams financial 'eyes and ears'. Profit reporting is a key metric and in-depth analysis of same is required looking at currency, pricing, product mix etc. You will provide sales analysis support to category planning to help performance understanding and provide adhoc financial support is also key.
How you will contribute
You will:
1) Channel support - working with the Sales Director and his team to provide financial support across a number of areas but not limited to -

  • Forecasting - review the forecast with the team for robustness and having a detailed understanding of key drivers of difference
  • Daily sales - work with the team to ensure that sales are being delivered consistent with the period's forecast and early warning of any material variations
  • Month end - provide reports summarising performance and ability to identify issues. Management of channel accruals to ensure costs are appropriately captured. Understanding of any rate differences versus forecast
  • Management of accruals - reporting on accruals and supporting sales and customer finance clearing deductions/making customer payments
  • Deductions - reporting of deductions and working with sales team to ensure all deductions are adequately provided for. Clean ledger management is key.
  • Profit - Profit roadmap reporting ensuring the channel stays within its target by account by category. This area is crucial to build on the success IE has achieved over the last number of years.
  • Ad hoc - supporting sales team with numerous requirements including customer queries, supporting price increase calculations, promotional evaluation support, forex calculations, aged stock, Brexit support etc
  • Audit - Support the Internal and External audit process. Liaise directly with PWC and lead for FC


2) Category Finance & Sales Revenue Planning support - providing customer performance updates and support with variance analysis (emphasis on pricing) and any ad hoc queries.
3) Ensure that all trade promotional costs are reflected accurately in the P&L, via P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations, management of the SAP trade deals system, manual adjustments and correction of errors.
4) Provide analysis & interpretation of trade spends to assist senior management in the decision making process
5) Prepare analysis for and lead monthly trade review meetings held with Sales Revenue Planning. Maintain open and effective communication channels with these teams throughout the month to follow up on any issues arising.
6) Maintain controls over the trade deals system in SAP & overall trade spend, ensuring that Mondelez policies are adhered to at all times. Assist in preparation of analysis for audit as required.
7) Provide cover for the other sales analysts and sales controllers as necessary
8) Track levels of long term agreement spend accruals - analysing latest sales forecast information to ensure that accruals are accurate and complete, reporting any deviations.
9) Support customer finance with Ledger Review meetings and ensure accurate action capture and follow through. Clean customer ledgers must be maintained.
10) Ensure timely Promotional Post-Evaluations are completed to ascertain the effectiveness of the promotion and the promotional mechanic. Feed this information back to the Customer Managers as well as Planning and Finance Managers.
What you will bring

  • You have a recognised professional accounting qualification (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) to at least intermediate level/qualified
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel & other Office applications
  • Knowledge of SAP

  • Strong communication skills (oral & written)
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Exceptional influencing skills
