Coinbase Ireland is looking for an accomplished Compliance professional, experienced in consumer protection, reporting to the Head of Compliance in Ireland. The role covers three legal entities in Ireland, one regulated E-Money Institution and two Virtual Asset Service Providers (“VASPs”). You’ll work closely with various functional key partners to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in Ireland and other international jurisdictions.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Primary advocate for the rights and interests of consumers within CBIE
  • Identify potential risks to consumers in Coinbase Ireland's products and services, and work with relevant teams to mitigate those risks.
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments of Coinbase Ireland’s products and services to ensure ongoing compliance with consumer protection laws and regulations;
  • Ensure that consumers who are flagged as vulnerable are serviced in line with consumer protection requirements;
  • Oversee the resolution of customer complaints, ensuring timely and fair outcomes;
  • Analyse complaint trends and work with wider Coinbase Ireland teams to address recurring issues.
  • Ensure consistency in data on complaints that is reported to governance forums and in regulatory reporting;
  • Determine consumer protection metrics and provide such management information to the Head of Compliance and relevant governance forums for Coinbase Ireland;
  • Manage consumer protection policies on behalf of the team;
  • Develop and implement a consumer protection compliance programme to ensure that Coinbase Ireland operates in accordance with Irish and international regulatory requirements;
  • Remain up to date on regulations, law and guidance related to the company and update policies accordingly.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for employees to raise awareness of consumer protection issues, regulatory requirements and lead initiatives to foster a culture of consumer protection in Coinbase Ireland.

Nice to haves:

  • 6+ years prior experience in Compliance or risk management roles
  • A compliance certification
  • Superior attention to detail in order to identify and correct risky practices
  • Must be a strong communicator and capable of expressing oneself clearly both speaking and in writing
  • Possess a collaborative personality and be open to suggestions from team members
  • Exemplify strong knowledge of industry protocols and best practices
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex documents and policies
  • Strong time management and organisational skills and able to meet deadlines
  • Should have a strong moral code and sense of ethics
