Department Overview

The Prime Services and Intermediary Middle Office teams handle all aspects of support for Fidelity’s hedge fund investment manager, Family Office, and Investment Advisor client base.  This includes trade processing, client service and exception management. The team provides high quality support in a courteous and professional manner while building relationships across the firm. You are expected to adhere to the highest ethical standards and ensure your actions are consistent with defined policies and procedures. You will be supervised, but have the discretion to take action as an individual contributor and as a subject matter expert.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

• Brokerage industry experience, preferably in trading or middle/back-office operations
• Working knowledge of equity, fixed income, and derivative products
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, brokerage accounting, and securities  settlement and custody preferred
• Experience with Fund accounting, Prime Brokerage Hedge Fund accounting experience a plus
• Knowledge of Robotics and Blue Prism mechanics and workflow

The Purpose of Your Role

The Prime Services and Intermediary Operations Associate role is a unique opportunity for education and exposure to Prime Brokerage, Institutional client support, stock loan, and custody services.  The incoming associate will own aspects of trade flow support, client asset movements and reporting while working alongside Prime Services and Intermediary Middle Office teams in the support of the client base.  Additionally, he/she will develop and maintain professional working relationships with various business groups within Fidelity and be exposed to risk and technology projects/reviews.   While working in a custody environment, the associate will develop an understanding of trading/reporting systems, regulatory requirements, risk awareness, compliance rules, internal and external institutional entities and financial markets.

• You have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to process work accurately and pay attention to detail
• Detailed knowledge of custody operations: such as Prime Brokerage and DVP/RVP flows
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel, including use of macros)
• You bring the ability to work in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions and the aptitude to multi-task with many different systems
• You are self-motivated and can operate as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to review the accuracy of trading and reporting activity
• Understanding of Robotics and administration and maintenance of Robotics automation

The Value You Deliver and Primary Responsibilities

• Review of daily security and cash movements, corporate actions, stock certificate/ deposits, restricted stock cleanup, etc.

• Provide assistance in the development of new procedures, products, and technologies aimed at improving service to clients. Significant involvement in the testing and implementation of such products.
• Responsible for daily portfolio accounting data to ensure accurate client report production
• Becoming an expert in the life cycle of a trade; daily processing and review of client trade activity
• Analysis of internal operations, seeking ways to improve work flows through automation
• Minimizing operational, monetary, and reputational risk to the firm by creating and supporting a thoroughly procedurally-compliant environment
• Utilizing your ability to analyze a problem, obtain and evaluate information to support sound conclusions
• General quality control and account maintenance
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of Robotics automation

Available to work shift hours 5:30am – 2:00pm

Able to work Irish Bank holidays and have US Bank holidays off

Able to allow for flexibility with working hours
