About the role
We are currently hiring a Business Development Executive to join our On-Trade Sales team. This role covers a defined territory across North East Ireland and reports to the Sales Manager.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of approximately 120 accounts, developing strong customer relationships, and delivering commercial growth across the territory.
Working to a structured journey plan, you will collaborate with the wider sales organisation to support customer success and identify opportunities to grow distribution, visibility, and sales performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver agreed distribution, pouring, visibility, and volume targets across the territory
- Manage relationships across all assigned outlets, ensuring strong engagement and execution of the full portfolio
- Develop and execute customer and account plans, aligned to commercial and brand objectives
- Act as a trusted partner to customers, identifying opportunities and delivering tailored commercial solutions
- Create and present an annual district plan, outlining key strategic priorities, with quarterly reviews and updates
- Develop and implement account activation plans across key consumption occasions
- Manage commercial agreements across the customer base, including new pouring contracts and renewals
- Conduct quarterly business reviews with key customers to ensure compliance with agreed terms and identify improvement actions
- Manage budgets effectively, ensuring accurate tracking and reconciliation of spend (including P&L, marketing investment, and trade discounts)
- Use data and insights to identify and act on growth opportunities
- Utilise Salesforce and other tools to track activity, analyse performance, and identify commercial opportunities
Essential Criteria
- Full, valid driver’s licence
- Proven experience in a sales or commercial role (approximately 3+ years or equivalent experience)
- Strong ability to build and maintain effective customer relationships
- Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills
- Commercial awareness with the ability to understand and discuss trade margins and business performance
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to analyse data and apply insights to support decision-making
- Proficiency in using digital tools (e.g. CRM systems, Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint)
Desirable Criteria
- Experience within the On-Trade, FMCG, or beverage industry
- Experience managing commercial agreements or contracts
- Experience developing and delivering account or territory plans
- Strong presentation skills, including experience delivering internal or customer-facing proposals
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems
