The Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard Market Company team are responsible for the sales and marketing of Pernod Ricard brands throughout the island of Ireland. Pernod Ricard is the world leader in premium international champagnes and spirits. With a portfolio of home-grown Irish whiskeys, and award-winning spirits from around the world, we drive the growth of our brands by connecting with our consumers and collaborating with our customers. Our key brands include Jameson, Powers, Absolut, Redbreast, Malfy, Havana Club, West Coast Cooler,  Beefeater Gin, Mumm and Perrier-Jouët . We are currently seeking a permanent Business Development Executive to join our On-Trade team based in Dublin.  Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for optimising sales opportunities and building business relationships with the On-Trade across approximately 100 accounts in Dublin area. Working with a set journey plan, you will help enable customer success and will work closely with the wider sales organisation to meet our customers’ needs.

Key to success will be a natural ability to sell, build strong effective and positive relationships combined with excellent negotiation skills and financial acumen.

What’s involved?

  • Deliver agreed Distribution, Pouring, Visibility & Volume targets for the territory.

  • Direct management of all outlets, secure distribution and pouring of the full IDL portfolio in all outlets, own and deliver the relationship and customer engagement plan for the territory.

  • Operate as a consultant to customers through the creation and execution of high impact account plans.

  • Annual presentation of district plan outlining key strategic drivers for the fiscal year, reviewed quarterly and updated.

  • Develop best in class Account plans for customers with clear activation plans across occasions.

  • Management of all commercial trading agreements across customer base including new pouring proposals and renewing existing pouring agreements

  • Undertake quarterly reviews with key account customers ensuring that all T&C’s on agreements are being adhered to and outlines action plans to course correct where necessary

  • Budget management and ensuring all investment is accurately reconciled including P&L, marketing support and advanced discount.

  • Leverage data and insights that unlock sustainable growth opportunities for IDL and the customer.

  • Salesforce – Utilise daily and analyse data to identify commercial opportunities .

What we are looking for?

  • Full Drivers License required.

  • 1-3 years proven track record in a sales role across retail, wholesale, FMCG or drinks preferred, but not essential.

  • Strong at relationship building, collaboration, seeing opportunities, negotiation and networking.

  • Planning and organisational skills with strong commercial insights and ability to manage your time effectively.

  • Ability to measure the financial impact of business decisions and confident in discussing trade margins with customers.
