This is a vital role in ensuring MFS can calculate independent Net Asset Values of investment funds. A Portfolio Operations (PO) Associate Director will operate and oversee reconciliation and NAV review technology to deliver a full reconciled gross Net Asset Value to client operations teams or clients, including cash, positions, unsettled trade and accrued interest reconciliations, primarily serving the Bank Debt book of business.
A PO Associate Director will have a strong understanding of what drives the value of an investment fund, the types of products it trades and the nature of day-to-day operations between an investment fund and its counterparties, all alongside a keen interest in learning new technologies and skills. Role will include managing projects and on-boarding new clients.
A PO Associate Director will have oversight into many clients and deliverables. They will manage Associates, Senior Associates and Junior Associate Directors, allocate tasks, ensure there is always sufficient coverage in the team to meet SLAs and step up when there are difficult tasks or sensitive issues to address.
- Monitor client SLAs and ensure they strictly adhered to.
- Perform GAV reviews, review staff work and allocate tasks.
- Ensure a good knowledge of loans including private and syndicated loans, delayed draws and revolvers
- Oversee any PL anomalies, identify the reasons and a point of escalation to problem solving within the team.
- A proficient user of Markit, Clearpar and WSO which are used in completing reconciliations.
- Ensure knowledge of clients and processes is maintained across the team and that there is adequate bench strength.
- Available as an escalation point for any challenges staff are encountering.
- Provide great client service to all our clients be they internal or external.
- Ensure queries from clients are responded to in a timely and efficient manner.
- Oversee the new client onboarding process.
- Lead projects and manage change.
- Assist in recruitment and manage new hire training.
- University degree in Computer Science, Math, Finance, Accounting or an equivalent combination of education.
- Candidates will require at least 7 years’ experience within the investor services or asset management industry with at least 3 years in the area of Bank Debt, and at least 3 years managing staff.
- Geneva system knowledge an advantage
