The Associate Director - Client Onboarding manages client onboarding projects, ensuring efficient integration of new clients and adherence to regulations. They lead a team, liaise with key stakeholders, and maintain operational efficiency and reporting systems.
Summary: The Associate Director – Client Onboarding will be an integral part of the Waystone team and will play a pivotal role in proactively managing and supporting our clients and funds from a commercial and governance perspective as well as representing Waystone at external events.
This role is crucial in managing a Client Onboarding team, who are responsible for ensuring that new clients are integrated smoothly and efficiently, thereby supporting the company’s growth plans and maintaining the highest standards of client satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing and delivery of all Onboarding / Launch projects for clients, generally to be comprised of more complex launches and/or large strategic client relationships and/or ETF relationships.
- Act as lead contact person with Fund Boards, Investment Managers, and across the different service providers, principally the Fund Administrator, Depositary, Auditors and Legal Advisors in the launch phase of new funds.
- Act as an escalation point for team members and assist them in addressing and resolving any issues on fund launches and acting as an interface to senior management of Client Onboarding function.
- Oversight of the projects to ensure they remain operationally efficient and financially profitable as well as managing planning for future expected launches and resource allocation across domiciles.
- Ensure knowledge is current and updated as and when they are circulated by reading and implementing processes to ensure adherence to any relevant changing regulation.
- Identify procedures that need to be implemented or changed, lead the charge to ensure changes are made, take responsibility for training, and ensure that procedures are adhered to on an ongoing basis.
- Keeping Salesforce, Compass and all relevant MI up to date with all relevant services in relation to onboarding activity and ensure MI reporting is maintained and distributed accurately and on time.
- Attending, when available, training sessions on relevant topics and ensuring all teams are onboard with the changing operating and regulatory environment.
Education:
- An internationally recognized professional qualification.
Experience:
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in an investment funds environment.
- Knowledge of AIFMD, UCITS and MiFID.
- Client facing background with presentation and project management skills.
