Conduct research on wireless sensing and communication for UAV and non-terrestrial platforms. Develop beamforming, direction-finding, sensing waveforms, antenna arrays, and radar/communications signal processing. Implement algorithms in C++, Julia, Python, and MATLAB, validate them on software-defined radio hardware, and conduct real-world UAV field trials. Publish research, mentor postgraduate students, support education and public engagement, and maintain compliance with quality and safety standards.

Fully funded four-year PhD researching integrated sensing and communication for UAV and non-terrestrial networks. The candidate will develop signal-processing algorithms, sensing waveforms, beamforming and localisation methods; implement them using software-defined radios and programmable hardware; analyse RF datasets; and conduct laboratory and outdoor UAV field trials. Responsibilities also include publishing research, presenting findings, collaborating with academic and industry partners, and supporting education and public engagement activities.
