Build and evolve Toast’s cloud-native data platform, working hands-on with Spark, Iceberg, streaming infrastructure, lakehouse architecture, APIs, and feature-serving systems. Drive technical strategy and architectural decisions, influence engineering and product stakeholders, mentor engineers, and enable teams to build scalable data and AI/ML experiences. The role is hybrid in Dublin and supports major platform modernization initiatives.

Design, build, and maintain scalable software for Toast’s international mid-market restaurant customers. Deliver features end to end, collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering, monitor outcomes, and iterate based on usage. The role involves backend and full-stack development across Java, Kotlin, React, and related technologies, use of AI-assisted development tools, and mentoring less experienced engineers through reviews and feedback.

Designs and supports cloud-native infrastructure, automation, landing zones, network and security infrastructure across AWS regions. Builds and maintains infrastructure-as-code modules, CI/CD tools, developer platform services, and migration tooling. Establishes coding standards, tests internal tools, mentors developers, and leads critical platform features at scale.
