Responsibilities include database tuning, replication, high availability, disaster recovery, backups, automation, observability, security, containerized deployments, infrastructure-as-code, and partnership with engineering teams. The role also participates in on-call rotations and improves operational reliability through SRE practices, documentation, measurable KPIs, and preventative engineering.
