We are currently seeking a VP, Business Unit Finance to join our dynamic team. This high-impact, visible role reports directly to the R&DS CFO and plays a critical part in partnering with Clinical Operations leadership to support strategic business objectives. The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership experience within a global, matrixed organization and demonstrate executive presence.
This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional analytical skills – someone who can dive into the details while maintaining a clear view of the broader financial narrative. You will be instrumental in shaping financial strategies and policies within an autonomous division, contributing to IQVIA’s continued growth and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Clinical Operations leadership team to shape and execute strategies that drive the achievement of business goals.
- Lead financial planning and accounting functions for 6 sub-business units, including budgeting, costing, financial analysis, and long-range forecasting.
- Oversee the preparation and issuance of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, clearly articulating the business drivers impacting the financial results.
- Serve as a point of contact for external auditors and, when appropriate, provide insights to the investment community.
- Monitor macroeconomic, industry, and financial trends to assess their implications on organizational policies and operations.
- Evaluate operational challenges across functional areas, providing financial insights and recommendations to support data-driven decision making.
Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; advanced degree highly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), with a strong background in managing large, complex budgets, within a CRO, IQVIA, or a blend of both.
- Working knowledge of ASC 606 for revenue recognition is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing global teams in a matrixed organization.
- Proven success in proactively designing and executing strategic cost savings initiatives and ROI driven financial strategies.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to build influential relationships and deliver compelling presentations to senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional analytical, operational, interpersonal, and management skills.
