Job Summary

The role is a mix of technical and non-technical work. You will deliver and maintain shared tooling, integrations and automation for developer productivity enablement, for product specific data dashboards, custom reporting, JIRA and GitHub integrations, telemetry and other automation opportunities. At the same time, you will lead the consistency org-wide by defining, validating and introducing best practices and educating and evangelizing the solutions.
 

Your overall task is to define, maintain, foster and support the adoption of consistent process and automation practices, their tooling and execution across multiple teams within the Red Hat Developer org to enable them to be more efficient and consistent in their execution.

What you will do:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement features that improve developer workflows and productivity

  • Deliver and maintain shared tooling/integrations/automation for developer productivity enablement

  • Deliver and maintain quality specific dashboards/scorecards, customer reporting, telemetry and other data delivering automation

  • Coordinate Jira tooling, schema management, best practices and guidelines

  • Coordinate GitHub Projects tooling, sync tooling, best practices and guidelines

  • Educate and evangelize aforementioned solutions and agile practices in the teams

  • Defining best-practices across the aforementioned solutions and agile concepts

  • Enable teams to deliver on product success metrics and telemetry where needed

  • Develop and maintain APIs and components to support integration with other Red Hat products and services

  • Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to establishing best practices within the team

What you will bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on cloud-native and containerised applications

  • Strong experience of working with containers, Kubernetes and container orchestration

  • Strong agile experience working in dependent teams and large org structures

  • Solid knowledge of Golang, Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript

  • Familiarity with GitHub and/or JIRA APIs and its features

  • Experience with Linux, shell scripting and system automation

  • Solid understanding of CI/CD practices

  • Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively within a distributed team and interact with stakeholders

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Experience with the use of any or multiple cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure, IBM Cloud)

The following are considered a plus:

  • Experiences in operating managed services running on Kubernetes

  • Experiences in the AWS range of products, especially the networking services

  • Experience using Bootstrap, Flutter, ReactJS, Flux, Redux, Relay/GraphQL, ReactNative, Ember.js and similar frontend frameworks in Node.js ecosystem
