ABOUT OUR TEAM

We are a remote-first team that sits across Europe and North America and comes together once a month in-person for 3 days and for longer offsites once a year.

Our R&D and production teams are a combination of research and engineering-oriented profiles, however, everyone deeply cares about the quality of the systems we build and has a strong underlying knowledge of software development. We believe that good engineering leads to faster development iterations, which allows us to compound our efforts.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Technical Program Manager at Poolside, you’ll drive the definition and delivery of mission-critical products—aligning cross-functional teams around clear goals and translating real-world needs into frontier AI systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Planning & Execution

  • Define project scope, success metrics, timelines, and deliverables

  • Build clear roadmaps and milestones to align teams and priorities

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, product, design, research, operations, and GTM) to ensure smooth execution

  • Identify risks, manage dependencies, and keep projects on track in a fast-paced environment

Technical Leadership

  • Understand and translate business objectives into clear technical requirements

  • Evaluate technical feasibility and identify potential tradeoffs

  • Contribute to architectural decisions and lead technical discussions

  • Uphold engineering quality standards and best practices

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the connective tissue between teams and functions, keeping all teams informed and aligned on goals and project status

  • Manage expectations across teams and organizational levels, keeping the project oriented towards achieving the status business objective

  • Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Strong engineering background (software, systems, or a related field), with the ability to engage deeply in technical discussions

  • Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional programs from definition to launch—ideally in AI, ML, or other technically-demanding domains.

  • Understanding of modern AI/ML concepts and development workflows; experience coordinating research-to-production lifecycles is a plus.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity, fast iteration, and shifting priorities; thrives in a high-growth, early-stage environment.

  • Skilled at structuring processes without over-engineering them, balancing speed with quality.

  • Exceptional ability to tailor communication across audiences—from engineers to executives to external partners.

  • Ability to build trust and alignment across teams, driving consensus without formal authority.

  • Experience in developer tools, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure; exposure to open-source ecosystems.

PROCESS

  • Intro call with Beatriz, our Head of People

  • Interview with Jason, our CEO & Co-founder

  • Panel interview with multiple members of the team among GTM and engineering

BENEFITS
