Technical Program Manager - R&D

Mastercard Foundry is a global innovation group focused on the evolution of technology and consumer trends and how these changes impact the payments and commerce industry. Foundry is a collective of interdisciplinary teams powering Mastercard's ability to create and deliver differentiated products, services, and experiences.
Within Foundry, the global Research and Development (R&D) team conducts applied research on emerging technologies to create innovative products for Mastercard.
Foundry R&D is made up of talented, passionate developers, engineers, scientists, designers, researchers, data specialists, and program managers. We build knowledge in emerging technologies like quantum computing, spatial computing, privacy enhancing technologies, generative AI and machine learning to conceptualize and create new products and services, which we then market test with our customers.
We also bring the knowledge of cutting and bleeding edge technology to create concepts of the future which not only inspires our customers but also fosters the culture of innovation within Mastercard.
To support this range of projects we are looking for a talented Technical Program Manager to join the Mastercard Foundry R&D team in our Dublin TechHub.
About The Role
The primary remit of this role is to support a broad range of initiatives and activities:
• Project and program management for one or more initiatives supporting our internal pillars of research and new product development.
• Own project planning and reporting, and drive transparency for stakeholders.
• Coordinate and oversee internal operational reporting regarding objectives, KPIs and other metrics.
• Project management for internal projects, for example system migrations, vendor management, hardware refreshes etc.
• Support planning and organization around R&D communications such as newsletters, blog posts, whitepapers, conferences etc.
• Support planning and organization related to R&D initiatives and events such as Tech Talks, Hackathons, Townhalls etc.
• Support planning and execution for customer events and presentations.

The right person for this position will:
• Demonstrate a high level of creative problem-solving, a strong personal presence, and the ability to manage change. Thrive when dealing with uncertainty and maintain a focus on execution and organization.
• Possess an entrepreneurial, high-energy approach and vision; be a proactive self-starter who seeks initiatives to advance.
• Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills by pursuing alternative ways to solve problems, addressing difficult situations, and producing actionable recommendations.
• Have project and/or program management experience, leading complex initiatives in a structured manner.
• Demonstrate strong prioritization and re-prioritization abilities, effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience working for a technology company. An interest in technology would be a bonus.
• Possess strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with and manage internal and external stakeholders.
• Be experienced with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, PowerPoint, and PowerBI.
