The SysAdmin is responsible for managing and maintaining servers, networks, and systems for high availability and performance. Duties include monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, deploying software and hardware, and implementing backup procedures. The role requires collaboration with IT support and staying updated on industry trends.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the organization's servers, networks, and systems to ensure high availability and performance.
- Monitor system performance, security, and reliability; troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
- Deploy, configure, and upgrade software and hardware components.
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Collaborate with IT support teams to assist end-users and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to recommend improvements and enhancements.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Linux, Windows), networking, and server management.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with setting up and managing Active Directory
- Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) for automation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration abilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Linux+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) are a plus.
- Familiarity with ISO 27001 procedures would be a plus
