About the role:
We are in search of a solution-oriented and experienced Staff Software Engineer (Backend) to join our Affinidi Elements team. In this role, you will work with global peers on teams dedicated to areas of the product portfolio, from the product, design, infrastructure, architecture, and back/front-end engineering teams. You will be responsible for the continued enhancement and development of a multi-component platform, where your expert skills in designing, architecting, and building quality systems will intersect with your hands-on coding, performance testing, and integrating experience.

You will be a great match if you:
- Have proven experience diagnosing and preventing performance issues
- Possess strong back‑end skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React; bonus for C#, C++, Rust
- Have deep expertise in cloud computing (AWS preferred) and native environments
- Understand design patterns and have a track record of deploying microservices in the cloud
- Are skilled in technical documentation (C4 Model, ADRs)
- Are hands‑on with REST APIs and apply Test‑Driven Development (TDD)
- Advocate for privacy‑by‑design, security, testing, and high‑performance systems
- Have a solid understanding of cryptography
- Bring experience in authorization/authentication domains
- Thrive in autonomous, fast‑moving startup environments and global teams

- Experience working across functions, locations, and time zones
- Expertise in decentralized identity solutions
- Experience building systems with advanced cryptography requirements
