As a Staff Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security measures to safeguard the organization’s IT infrastructure, systems, and data against evolving cyber threats. You will lead technical initiatives, conduct risk assessments, guide incident response, and collaborate across teams to enhance security posture and resilience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats to organizational systems and networks.
  • Design, implement, and enforce security controls including encryption, access control, monitoring, and prevention measures.
  • Lead incident response efforts, investigate security breaches, analyze logs, and mitigate threats to minimize organizational impact.
  • Develop, refine, and execute incident response and disaster recovery plans.
  • Perform routine security testing including vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and security audits to proactively identify and address risks.
  • Collaborate with software developers, system admins, and IT teams to ensure security is integrated into software development and system infrastructure.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership and teams, providing expert guidance on security standards, strategy, and emerging threats.
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to security engineers and broader IT teams.
  • Evangelize security awareness and best practices within the company and possibly represent the organization in industry security forums or events.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a security engineer with deep knowledge of security technologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, IT infrastructure, encryption technologies, and security frameworks.
  • Experience with incident response, forensic analysis, and threat mitigation.
  • Ability to lead complex, cross-team security projects and initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related field; advanced certifications preferred (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH).
  • Commitment to continuous learning about new security threats and mitigation techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing security architecture for cloud environments and enterprise systems.
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting for security processes.
  • Prior involvement in security policy development and compliance management.

This role is essential for protecting critical assets, maintaining system integrity, and fostering a security-first culture across the organization.
