The Opportunity:
As the Staff Engineer for the Connect team, you’ll work on challenging technical problems of an ambitious product. The team is building an advanced and exciting and comprehensive solution providing: a marketplace with curated set of pre-built, ct-certified Integrations, created in partnership with our community, that provide out-of-the-box connections between products and a run-time environment for those integrations, managed by commercetools as part of our infrastructure and provided as a paid service to our customers. Tech stack includes but is not limited to NodeJS, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Run and Google Pub/Sub.
Your Mission:
- Ensure that commercetools’ Connect services are optimised for throughput and scalability
- Guide and collaborate with Connect’s engineering team to build a robust, scalable solution to successfully address Connect’s use case scenarios.
- Understand the challenges of our partners and customers around building and deploying integrations for CoCo.
- Suggest innovative solutions for technical problems for Connect.
- Drive the technical vision for Connect’s services alongside and in alignment with our Principal Engineer.
What you need to succeed:
- A solid technical background and a proven track record in Software Engineering roles (7+ years).
- Proven proficiency in Javascript, TypeScript for enterprise applications.
- Experience working with microservices-based architectures in a leadership role with diverse teams.
- Experience with Kubernetes and GCP (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub). Knowledge of other cloud solutions is also highly desirable.
- Experience in designing and implementing cloud solutions from the ground up. Including infrastructure provisioning through Terraform.
- Ability to analyze complex technical problems and to drive improvements.
- Experience working in an Agile environment for a geographically distributed team.
- Ability to lead by example with a strong focus on knowledge sharing and team collaboration.
- Setting up and facilitating training and onboarding sessions.
- You are highly self-aware.
- You have a very strong sense of technical ownership while continuously work on improving knowledge sharing, delegation and empowerment for team members.
- You believe in continuous learning and you are interested in leadership, new technologies and best practices.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Fluent English to work in an international environment.
