This role is for the Yahoo Finance Data Platform team. The team is responsible for building and enhancing systems that ingest and process real-time and batch data from various feed providers for the data presented on Yahoo Finance.
On a day-to-day basis, the engineer will work on various tasks involving feed acquisition, processing, and building/enhancing systems to power products and/or features. This will involve writing code, debugging, enhancing existing code, and designing data models to store data efficiently to power various product use cases.
Responsibilities:
Write code to perform data acquisition and processing for new data feeds
Take ownership of existing data feeds and data processing systems
Execute the modernization initiatives underway in the team
Build new components, and platforms as needed for powering product initiatives
A lot About You:
Demonstrated industry experience building backend systems
Experience working on real-time and/or batch-feed processing systems
Experience with databases
5+ years of industry experience
Masters/Bachelors in Computer Science (or a related technical field)
Strong system design skills especially involving modern distributed systems
Strong data modeling skills
