This is a senior lending role within the front office of ING Dublin. The Specialised Lending team in ING Dublin covers a portfolio of exposures across a range of sectors including, Real Estate Finance, Food & Agri, TMT, Healthcare and Manufacturing & Industrials. This coverage is provided across a wide breadth of jurisdictions including the United States, United Kingdom, Middle East, Nordic Region, Switzerland, Turkey as well as the domestic Irish market.

The Specialised Lending Manager will closely liaise with our sector-focused relationship managers to onboard new clients across both large corporates and also mid-cap sized clients. This may involve working in a deal team to pitch ING’s capability to a client’s senior management and/or debt advisors as well as undertaking intensive due diligence on the credit and commercial merits of a lending transaction proposal.

The Specialised Lending Manager will be responsible for performing the credit due diligence, writing the credit application, negotiating on documentation for new lending transactions as well as monitoring tasks (e.g. period credit reviews) for a portfolio of clients.

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Originate and execute on new, complex large lending transactions across both mid-cap and large corporate clients.

  • Collaborate with sector-focused relationship managers to screen the onboarding of potential new clients and make early recommendations to senior management on the suitability to onboard such corporates within ING’s growth strategy.

  • Take the lead on the origination and execution of complex lending transactions in partnership key stakeholders including the Relationship Managers, Loan Syndications team, Credit Risk Management, and Capital Markets & Advisory.

  • Performing commercial and credit analysis on lending opportunities for new and existing clients, which includes both qualitative and quantitative due diligence and appropriate financial analysis and stress testing.

  • End to end execution of the transaction according to policy and present the credit proposal for approval to relevant approval mandate holders.

  • Documentation due diligence in collaboration with inhouse Legal Department or external Legal Counsel.

  • In life management and on-going monitoring of assigned portfolio including timely group reviews, monitoring financial reports, market trends, regulations, and early warning signs that may impact the client and or portfolio.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5-6 years’ experience in the financial sector, preferably in one or more areas of Real Estate Finance, Irish Food & Agri market, Acquisition/Leveraged Finance and/or Mid-Cap sized corporates.

  • Working knowledge of capital markets transactions;

  • Proficient in financial and credit analysis

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills;

  • Capable of working independently;

  • Experience in the documentation (and due diligence) process involved in transactions completion;

  • General working knowledge of all corporate banking products, but above all an aptitude to quickly pick up product skills.
