Role Overview

The Spanish LQA Specialist will analyze in-game text to validate grammar, syntax, spelling, and localization quality across multiple platforms, including mobile, PC, and console. They will conduct thorough linguistic and cultural reviews to ensure text and audio are accurate, natural, and consistent with the game’s tone and target audience.


The Spanish LQA Specialist is responsible for testing, identifying, and documenting language, implementation, and user interface (UI) issues, as well as suggesting appropriate fixes. This role requires close collaboration with in-house linguists and external vendors to ensure the highest linguistic standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verify the linguistic accuracy of all in-game text, ensuring correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and typographical quality.
  • Collaborate with in-house Spanish translators and external vendors to maintain the highest linguistic standards.
  • Validate the correct implementation and display of localized text across all platforms.
  • Ensure consistency of terminology, adhering strictly to approved glossaries and style guides.
  • Assess cultural appropriateness and flag any politically or culturally sensitive content.
  • Identify, document, and prioritize linguistic and localization-related bugs in a clear and concise manner.
  • Re-test and confirm that reported issues have been resolved and implemented correctly.
  • Execute test cases and checklists to ensure thorough coverage.
  • Provide linguistic support and backup for Spanish translators in the team when required.

Requirements
  • Native-level proficiency in Spanish.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Spanish and English.
  • Knowledge of Localization Quality Assurance processes and bug-tracking software.
  • Passion for video games and localization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong PC skills with proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and unambiguous documentation in both English and Spanish.
  • Strong interest in fantasy, science fiction, and broader pop culture.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience collaborating across cultures.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
  • University degree, equivalent qualification, or relevant professional experience in a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a freelance or in-house translator from English to Spanish (preferred).
  • Familiarity with CAT tools (e.g., Phrase, MemoQ) (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Localization Quality Assurance processes and bug-tracking software (preferred).
