What does a successful Product Manager do? 

As a Product Manager at Fiserv, you will play a pivotal role in leading our platform product team, fostering an environment of self-organization and empowerment. In this role, you will drive product capabilities and the roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer delight. Your technical expertise and deep understanding of the payment processing domain will be crucial in guiding the team towards continuous improvement and innovation. You will work closely with leadership to implement agile methodologies, remove blockers, and build a culture of trust and effectiveness.

What you will do:

  • Guide our processing product team and drive product capabilities and roadmap, coaching the team(s) to self-organization and embrace empowerment.

  • Facilitate and lead Product backlog development using Kanban and assess the competitor landscape for innovation.

  • Work to remove blockers so that the team(s) can operate efficiently.

  • Guide the Product Owners in grooming the Product Backlog and maximize value.

  • Contribute to the resolution of wider and organizational impediments that impact the team(s).

  • Work with Leadership, Engineering Managers, and Scrum Masters/Project Managers helping to drive cultural change and increase effectiveness using a variety of agile methodologies.

  • Do everything possible to ensure delighting customers.

  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem solving.

  • Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.

What you will need to have:

  • University degree or relevant professional qualification and/or equivalent military experience.

  • Experience in the payment processing domain and bringing technical expertise on the product/domain.

  • Knowledge in technical product development within an agile environment applying agile/lean principles, practices, and theory, e.g., drafting user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Insights in technical analysis, facilitation, continuous improvement, empowerment, self-organization.

  • Skills in one or more Agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, DAD, etc.).

  • Strong analytical background, preferably coming from the Payments or Financial Services domain.

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a matrixed or global environment and build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment on product vision and priorities.

  • Define, monitor, and report on key product metrics to demonstrate business impact and inform decision-making.
