What does this role entail?

A Fenergo Solution Architect is a versatile professional who plays a pivotal role in designing and delivering solutions using Fenergo products. They combine technical expertise with strategic thinking, ensuring that solutions align with business goals and are optimized for the Fenergo offering.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Design and Delivery:

  • Work closely with clients to understand their business processes, goals, and technical requirements.
  • Design and implement robust, scalable, and flexible solutions that integrate the SaaS platform with the client’s existing systems and architecture.
  • Define and document end-to-end solution architectures, ensuring alignment with both client and internal standards, best practices, and strategic goals.
  • Serve as the technical authority during all phases of project delivery, including discovery, design, implementation, testing, and post-go-live support.
  • Ensure that solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements, including security, performance, and scalability.

Holistic Approach and Big Picture Thinking:

  • Take a big-picture view of the client’s ecosystem to recommend solutions that align with their overarching business strategies and technology roadmaps.
  • Understand and address cross-functional dependencies and impacts across data, business, and technology architectures.
  • Advocate for the client’s long-term success by delivering solutions that support both current and future needs.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders, guiding them through complex decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including product, engineering, and professional services, to tailor solutions to client needs while aligning with the SaaS company’s roadmap and capabilities.
  • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless collaboration among developers, consultants, and client resources.

Proof of Concepts (PoCs):

  • Lead the development of PoCs to validate solutions, showcase product capabilities, and address specific client use cases.
  • Guide teams in iterative solution development, leveraging PoCs to refine requirements and approaches.

Problem Solving:

  • Analyse complex client environments and troubleshoot technical challenges to identify root causes and design effective solutions.
  • Resolve critical issues that arise during solution implementation or post-deployment, balancing client satisfaction with project timelines and scope.
  • Leverage creative and analytical skills to mitigate risks and ensure project success.

Business Architecture:

  • Analysing Business Processes and Requirements: Understanding and analysing business requirements and processes to ensure that proposed technical solutions align with the organization's business goals and objectives. (IE: Fit Analysis to TOM)
  • Strategic Planning: Developing strategic plans to enhance business operations through technology. This includes assessing the impact of new technologies on business processes and proposing changes to optimize performance. (IE: Feature release adoption)
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with business leaders and stakeholders to understand their vision and translate it into actionable technology strategies.

Data Architecture:

  • Data Modelling and Design: Designing and overseeing the implementation of data storage solutions, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and efficient.
  • Data Governance and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with data governance policies and regulations (IE: GDPR). Implementing measures for data security, quality, and integrity.
  • Data Integration and Management: Overseeing the integration of new data sources and managing the lifecycle of data across the organisation.

Application Architecture:

  • Designing Application Solutions: Creating architectural designs for software applications that meet the business requirements and are scalable, reliable, and maintainable. (IE: Integration Application Solutions)
  • Application Portfolio Management: Overseeing the application portfolio to ensure alignment with business needs and technology trends. Mapping product portfolio to client ecosystem.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensuring that application designs meet quality standards and performance requirements, Non-Functional Delivery (NFRs)

Technology Architecture:

  • Infrastructure Planning: Designing and planning IT infrastructure that supports the organization's technology needs, including cloud services, networks, and hardware.
  • Emerging Technologies: Keeping abreast of emerging technologies and assessing their potential impact on the client's technology strategy.
  • Disaster Recovery and Security: Developing strategies for disaster recovery and maintaining the security of the technology infrastructure.
Requirements

Key Expectations

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Utilize strong collaboration skills for Fenergo project networks
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Identification and Communication of risk to adoption, implementation or reputation.
  • Ability to provide experience-based advice and/or analogy-based content to negotiate challenging topics.

Analytical Skills and Solution Design:

  • Apply Fenergo-specific solution development controls
  • Apply analytical skills to assess and understand Fenergo technology and requirements
  • Apply knowledge of Fenergo-specific web-based security practices
  • Utilize experience in Fenergo-specific Engineering & Software Architecture Design

Industry knowledge:

  • Have an overarching knowledge around cloud native technologies
  • Apply knowledge of web-based security such as OAuth2, OIDC, PKI, etc
  • Apply familiarity with integration patterns and designs with an event driven SaaS offering
  • Experience with complex distributed compute and service-based architecture
