Job Description
Are you looking to work on an innovative robotics development right here in the south of England? Are you looking to move up, mentor junior engineers, lead great people, and work with innovative suppliers? Do you have experience as a Robotics Software Developer with a desire to lead more?
The right candidate will work in our European Robotics Technology Centre managing a small team of robotic software engineers working on self-driving trucks. You will report to the Head of Software. This role is integral to our continued success in the forklift industry.
What we need from you
- At least 5 years’ experience with hands-on robotics software development
- Communicate competently at a technical level
- Experience creating high quality documentation
- Excellent time planning
Qualifications/Skills
- BSc degree or equivalent in Application Development or Software Engineering or similar
- Knowledge of C++ application development is required
- Understand the architecture of applications, their design, construction, and deployment
- Knowledge of source control systems and why they are important is required. We use git.
- Experience working with agile methodologies, sprint planning and ticket tracking helps
- Understand how to read specifications and write documentation and why this is important
- Happy to test an application with real physical mobile machines
- Familiarity with typical sensors and actuators found in mobile industrial machinery would help but is not mandatory
