Job Description

About this job:

We are seeking a technically strong and solution-oriented Software Engineer to join our IT Business Operation Applications team. Reporting to the Head of Technical Support your role will be crucial in ensuring the reliability, the maintainability, and the efficiency of our applications landscape. In more detail your area of responsibilities will be:

Application Maintenance and Enhancement:

  • Add new features and functionalities to existing applications based on evolving business needs.
  • Update and improve existing functionalities for enhanced performance and user experience.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve software defects (bug fixes).
  • Improve application resilience and efficiency through code optimization and architectural enhancements.
  • Perform necessary framework upgrades and address security vulnerabilities to maintain application security and compatibility.

Software Development:

  • Collaborate with Business Experts to understand information needs, system flows, data usage, and work processes for new software development projects.
  • Investigate problem areas and propose solutions.
  • Develop software solutions.
  • Contribute to technical documentation.
  • Conduct unit and regression testing, and support user acceptance testing.
  • Prepare and document software installations.
  • Provide second-level support for developed applications.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Conduct systems analysis and recommend changes to improve application performance, stability, and maintainability.

Qualifications

About you:

  • At least 5 years of experience in software development.
  • A University degree or equivalent in IT/Computer Science
  • Proficiency in C#, Angular and Transact-SQL.
  • Strong experience in website and web API development
  • Passion for refactoring old code to improve quality and maintainability.
  • Enjoyment in debugging complex environments with many interacting components.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and Scrum methodologies is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Azure YAML pipelines is a plus.
  • Ability to own tasks, prioritize work, multi-task and work independently.
  • Ability to participate in several projects in parallel.
  • Experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry is a plus
  • Proficiency in English is a must (writing and speaking)
