Overview
The Blockchain & Digital Assets team is looking for a Software Engineer II to help build and scale innovative blockchain-based payment solutions. This individual will contribute to Mastercard’s growing portfolio of digital asset initiatives by developing secure, scalable, and resilient applications.
The ideal candidate is a curious and motivated technologist with strong software engineering fundamentals, who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to work on next-generation payment technologies. Experience or interest in blockchain and Web3 is a strong plus.
Role
In this hands-on engineering role, you will:
- Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to design and implement cloud-native microservices.
- Develop RESTful APIs and front-end applications that power our blockchain & digital asset products.
- Write clean, testable, scalable code using Java (Spring Boot), React, and other modern technologies.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and deployment activities.
- Contribute to secure software design practices and ensure compliance with Mastercard security standards.
- Work closely with product and platform teams to deliver high-impact features with measurable business value.
All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should:
- Have experience building full-stack applications using Java (Spring Boot) and React.
- Understand modern web standards including HTML, CSS, and REST APIs.
- Be comfortable working in cloud environments (preferably Microsoft Azure) and using container technologies like Kubernetes.
- Possess an interest in emerging technologies like blockchain and Web3.
- Be a proactive communicator and collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Additional Capabilities (Nice to Have):
- Exposure to distributed ledger technologies and digital asset protocols.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Familiarity with secure coding practices and PCI/DSS standards.
- Contributions to open-source or blockchain communities.
