We are seeking an experienced K8s engineer to join our dynamic team at eBay in Dublin, Ireland. This role requires a solid understanding of containers and Kubernetes, proficiency in programming languages such as Go, and Python. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the field, focusing on designing, developing, deploying, and operating a self-service platform that enables collaborative lifecycle management of applications that underpin eBay products and services.
Requirements

Minimum 5+ years of Go programming experience.

8+ years’ experience implementing large scale, distributed, high availability, fault-tolerant systems and infrastructure in a production environment and delivering products in a multi-functional team environment.

Experience with Kubernetes as an administrator (or related cloud infrastructure and cloud-native technologies), experience in Developing with Kubernetes and/or building Kubernetes controllers highly desirable.

High standards for development quality, especially on unit testing, TDD / BDT, and automated testing.

Extensive experience in multi-threaded and concurrency programming: deadlock, starvation, thread allocation, thread safety, concurrency design patterns.

Deep understanding of API design and RESTful principles, experience in building web services at scale.

Experience in participating in open-source standards and contributing to open source.
Responsibilities

Lead and collaborate with internal customers and partners to deliver key business outcomes.

Design, implement and manage modern cloud-native products and services that provide key competitive advantages for eBay.

Ensure that cloud products are reliable, efficient and meet eBay security and operational standards.

Adapt the latest open-source tools and technologies for use in the eBay context.
Preferred Skills:

Experience contributing to open-source projects.

Certifications in Kubernetes, lifecycle management or related fields.

Understanding Application lifecycle management, CI/CD is a plus.

Experience in a high-traffic, large-scale environment.

Familiarity with additional programming languages or frameworks.

Proficiency in Agile development methodologies.
