THE ROLE: Software Engineer - Back End
Rue Gilt Groupe is looking for a Software Engineer (Back-end) to join our expanding Merch tools Engineering Team in Dublin, IRE. The Merch Tools Engineering Team at Rue Gilt Groupe owns our proprietary Store Manager application and will work on an innovation project around pricing core functionalities.
This role will build scalable and sophisticated systems that synthesize data from thousands of brands and millions of consumers, to deliver an engaging real-time experience to users on the go. You enjoy an agile, fast-paced environment that has a start-up feel but is part of something much larger, impactful, collaborative, and exciting. We're currently modernizing our technical stack and need motivated contributors to drive our technology forward. On the frontend you'll be able to contribute modern React and Typescript single page applications, running on AWS cloud native architectures that handle problems at scale among 35+ million users.

Responsibilities:
- Architect and Develop: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and services.
- Code Quality: Ensure code quality through robust testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices.
- Database Management: Design and manage databases, ensuring data integrity, and efficient data access.
- API Development: Create and maintain APIs for internal and external use.
- Collaboration: Work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver cohesive, high-quality solutions.
- Security: Implement and maintain security best practices to protect data and applications.
- Documentation: Produce clear and concise documentation for developed features and systems.
- Incident Management: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on users.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Agile Participation: Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of the development process.

- 4+ years of experience in backend development.
- Strong proficiency in backend technologies, Python preferred
- Extensive experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Proven experience in designing and developing GraphQL and RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with cloud platforms, AWS preferred
- Experience in building internal facing tools to support the business
- Understanding of security principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Expected Base Salary Range: €70,000 - €80,000

Therefore, final offer amounts may vary from the amount stated.
