ROLE PURPOSE

Assisting the Account Director, you will help to provide creative and strategic direction, and play an instrumental role in the success of our social campaigns and strategies acting as first point of contact in the agency.  You will be expected to manage client accounts unsupervised and have a firm handle on activity and budgets to ensure accounts remain profitable and work is of the highest standard. You will build and maintain strong relationships with clients, particularly at senior level. You will also have involvement in Agency new business activities and assist in the development of our social media offering.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will have an aptitude and love of building and developing client relationships that stand the test of time – built on both professional respect and personal likeability and you will develop solid client relationships at every level
  • To ensure that the team is fully prepared for client meetings and take responsibility for their smooth running
  • To manage the implementation of agreed Client/Campaign activity on a day to day basis
  • To be responsible for monitoring the progress of Client activity on an on-going basis, providing regular updates and identifying new opportunities or potential problems
  • To lead the team who respond to conversations and comments in social media on behalf of those clients
  • To deliver real-time insight to account and client teams as required
  • To devise and write client-facing reports on the level/tone/sentiment of online conversations
  • To develop and manage the online presence of clients on social networks (e.g. YouTube/Facebook/Twitter/G+/Tumblr etc) and on other "owned" media including blogs
  • To develop and implement appropriate tracking and measurement tools to produce detailed reports on the effectiveness of our campaigns and day-to-day activity irrespective of the channel and the client they represent
  • To contribute to the writing and delivery of strategic, realistic and creative social campaigns that respond to a Client’s communication requirements
  • To be fully immersed in our clients’ industries, marketplace and understand their key objectives, you will be able to offer real, tangible value to their accounts
  • To manage the workload, efficiency and on-going mentoring and development of Social Media Account Executive (and community manager), imparting knowledge in general and leading by example and best practice
  • To determine priorities and guide work loads
  • To provide input for team appraisals, observing strengths and weaknesses and giving suggestions on development when appropriate
  • To operate an open door policy for all members of the team
  • Hold regular team update/status meetings
  • Hold regular 1 to 1s with direct reports
  • Ensure that being a member of your team is challenging, rewarding and enjoyable

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • A complete understanding of the social media landscape
  • Consumer experience, food experience would be advantageous
  • The ability to form and strengthen solid client relationships (having proof of this)
  • Experienced in managing a small team in addition to ‘managing up’
  • Experienced in working on new business, including pitches
  • Strategically minded, confident and tenacious when leading clients
  • Pro-active and a strong sense of intuition
  • An agile mind that can cope with multi-client demands – all needed quickly
  • Commercially minded with evidence of growing new business from existing client relationships
  • Experienced in working on new business, including pitches

  • The team is based in our Manchester office but operates under flexible working arrangements. The team are currently in the office every Monday and Tuesday
