As a Senior Windows Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in advancing automation, streamlining workflows, and ensuring our user environment is secure, performant, and futureproof.
You'll be a key contributor in uplifting the team's technical capabilities, enabling smarter operations across our Amsterdam office and will support global on efforts, helping us replicate and scale our best practices. On top of this you could dip your toes into MacOS and Linux environments to, if that is something you like to learn or have done in the past.

Your Core Responsibilities:
- Engineer, maintain, and evolve user environments in Windows ensuring high availability, performance, and seamless user experience that scales into the future.
- Act as a subject matter expert in areas like Active Directory, Microsoft 365, cloud integration (primarily AWS), and system security policies.
- Support and extend mobile device management (MDM) capabilities with platforms such as JAMF, particularly on MacOS.
- Build automated workflows using PowerShell (and/or Python) and integrate third-party tools via APIs to reduce manual overhead.
- Optimize performance for user-facing tools and platforms, including troubleshooting behaviour on Windows.
- Lead by example, mentoring more junior team members and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and smart automation.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across Amsterdam, London, Zug, Chicago, and APAC to ensure consistent user experience and infrastructure.
- Design and implement monitoring and alerting solutions using Grafana, Prometheus, and other observability tools.
We are seeking T-shaped engineers with deep expertise in Windows systems engineering that have a broad understanding of adjacent areas. You're someone who sees beyond the ticket queue, who wants to engineer solutions, not just fix problems.
- 6+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer in enterprise or high-performance environments.
- Deep expertise in Windows infrastructure and hybrid cloud setups.
- Strong knowledge of MDM tools (JAMF, Intune) and a willingness to up skill quickly in this area.
- Understanding of VMWare and networking fundamentals, especially in the context of host systems and MacOS environments.
- Solid documentation and operational handover habits, empowering others to follow clear processes.
- A problem-solving mindset: able to zoom out, propose smarter solutions, and reduce technical debt through automation.
- If you are comfortable scripting and automating tasks using PowerShell and/or Python that will help a lot!
- If you'd like to work with MacOS and Linux systems that is highly appreciated.
- Certifications in Windows are considered a huge plus.
