The Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager develops product positioning, creates messaging frameworks, leads product launches, and enables sales through technical content creation for Ververica's Unified Streaming Data Platform.
The summary above was generated by AI

Ververica is the original creator of Apache Flink and builds the Unified Streaming Data Platform for enterprises that need real-time data infrastructure they can trust. We compete with Confluent, Databricks, and AWS. We win when our technical depth meets better positioning.

This role is remote. You will need to overlap with either Pacific time or Central European time for daily collaboration, and occasionally with the other one.

We are the original creators of Apache Flink®, the stream processing framework that powers critical infrastructure at the world's most demanding enterprises. We deliver Real-Time AI for a world in motion, engineered in Europe, sovereign by design. We provide the only asset that matters to AI: Governed, Absolute Truth.

We are looking for someone who can look at a competitive situation on Monday, translate technically complex content into clear value, ship a battlecard by Wednesday, and see it influence a win by Friday.

What You'll Do

Own Outcomes, Not Deliverables

  • You're accountable for whether positioning actually changes win rates, not whether the deck looks polished. When something isn't working, you diagnose why, fix it, and measure the impact.
  • You talk to the people closest to deals, extract patterns, and turn insights into tools that move revenue.

Make Calls Without Permission

  • You assess situations, make informed decisions, and move forward. If a competitive threat emerges, you don't wait for consensus on the response.
  • You evaluate what matters most, build what's needed, document your reasoning, and ship it. Your manager expects you to own your domain.

Find Leverage, Not Just Complete Tasks

  • You identify where small efforts create outsized impact. A single conversation with an architect might unlock a message that resonates better than months of research. A talk track the field actually uses beats a comprehensive guide nobody opens. You focus ruthlessly on what moves deals.

Ship Fast and Iterate

  • You get work into the field quickly, learn from how it performs, and improve it. Perfect messaging that ships in three months loses to good messaging that ships this week and gets better based on real feedback.
  • You're comfortable with version one being rough if it means faster learning.

The Work Breaks Down Like This:

  • Helping Us Win Deals (40%): Competitive positioning that highlights our technical superiority, messaging that makes the choice obvious for data-intensive enterprises, discovery guides that uncover where alternatives fall short, objection handling that turns technical depth into commercial advantage, deal support for strategic opportunities where your expertise accelerates the close
  • Bringing Products to Market (40%): Launch planning focused on adoption drivers, asset creation (blogs, pages, decks, demos) where every piece has a clear job to do, post-launch analysis that shows what worked and what to kill
  • Enabling the Field (20%): Training that sticks because it's based on real wins, content that gets used because it solves actual problems, technical storytelling that bridges data engineers and CFOs without dumbing down or over-complicating

RequirementsWhat Makes You Right for This Role

Been in the Arena

  • 3+ years in product marketing for technical B2B products. More importantly, you've shipped products that won or lost based on positioning decisions you made.
  • You've watched deals close because of messages you crafted. You've seen launches fail and learned what to do differently.

Technical Credibility That Commands Respect

  • You understand streaming data and event-driven architectures well enough to engage when a CTO discusses exactly-once semantics. You know when to translate technical precision into business impact for the CFO in the same room.
  • You have expertise in Apache Flink, Kafka, Spark Streaming, or adjacent real-time data infrastructure. You are not afraid of code, and can whip up a demo that showcases business value.

Know How to Win in Enterprise

  • You understand complex B2B sales cycles because you've influenced them. You know the difference between creating content and creating content that Sales actually pulls into decks.
  • You've built competitive battlecards that changed win rates, not just documented feature parity.

Make Decisions With Incomplete Data

  • You're comfortable choosing direction with 70% certainty because waiting for 95% certainty means the opportunity is gone.
  • You document your reasoning so people can challenge it, but you don't mistake analysis paralysis for diligence.

Focus on What Moves Revenue

  • You can look at three competing priorities and correctly identify which one has revenue impact this quarter. You kill work that doesn't matter, even if it was your idea.
  • You measure launch success by pipeline influence, not press mentions.
What Would Make You Even More Effective
  • Hands-on Apache Flink experience
  • Background at streaming infrastructure vendors where you've seen how messaging shapes markets
  • Deep understanding of Financial Services buying patterns
  • Knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure (feature stores, model serving, real-time inference, RAG)
  • Experience with lakehouse technologies (Iceberg, Delta Lake, Paimon)
  • History of shaping technical narrative at the executive level

BenefitsWhat You Get
  • You'll work at the intersection of world-class streaming technology and high-stakes enterprise deals. You'll have direct influence on whether we win against well-funded competitors.
  • You'll shape how the market thinks about real-time AI and data infrastructure.
  • You'll join a team that values output over optics, speed over perfection, and outcomes over activity. Your manager won't micromanage tactics but will hold you accountable for commercial impact.
  • Most importantly: your decisions will matter. The positioning you choose, the message you craft, the assets you prioritize will directly influence whether we win deals and grow revenue. Most product marketing roles are three layers removed from outcomes - this one isn't.
