As Senior Strategic Finance Associate, you’ll leverage your strong financial, analytical and communication skills to become the go-to expert on all things financial and commercial for the UK region. Xero is growing and you will be a key part of driving this momentum forward. You’ll be involved across key decision making and providing strategic direction for the business. This role is critical to focus resources and investment in the right areas to drive outcomes in the UK, which is one of Xero’s strategically most important markets.

What you’ll do

  • Strategic Decisions Making: Work autonomously on various projects, helping teams size the financial and commercial impact of new projects/activities as well as build strong business cases for Regional and Global Leadership review.
  • Financial Analysis & Insights: Conduct financial analyses and synthesize data to highlight trends, risks, and opportunities across the full P&L. Present clear, actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Planning & Forecasting: Support monthly forecasting and annual planning efforts, providing visibility to regional leadership on the direction the business is taking.
  • Cost & Efficiency Management: Help monitor and optimize costs by ensuring spend is properly recorded in our systems, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting initiatives that balance revenue growth with efficiency goals.
  • Financial Modelling & Reporting: Build and maintain financial models to evaluate scenarios, inform business cases, and provide timely reporting that supports informed decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with various teams, including regional leadership, to ensure alignment with financial goals, communicate insights, and respond to information requests.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with more senior members of the Strategic Finance team to deliver key financial activities and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and excellence.

  • Proactivity & Results Focus: Self-starter with a proactive approach, able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong collaboration skills, able to build effective relationships with regional leaders and other stakeholders.

Experience

  • Relevant Finance Experience: 3-5 years of experience in strategic finance, financial planning & analysis, or a similar role, preferably in a high growth technology or SaaS business.
  • Analytical Rigor: Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrating intellectual rigor and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, or CPA are preferred.
  • Proven Track Record: Experience in creating and maintaining financial models, influencing senior leaders, and driving strategic financial outcomes.
