We’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our Consumer Growth team, to build world-class experiences for our clients (restaurants) and consumers (food enthusiasts), helping us achieve our mission to level the playing field for independent restaurants.
In the Consumer Growth team, we’re obsessed with optimising, improving and scaling our consumer-facing websites and online ordering system so that we continue to be a leading provider of world class ordering solutions for our restaurant clients. We are an innovative team of full-stack engineers responsible for mission-critical services, systems and interfaces that are solid, and performant with observability baked-in for good measure. We’re seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of professional expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Node.js. Previous cloud experience, particularly with serverless architecture, is preferred. The successful candidate will have a passion for technology, a willingness to embrace new challenges, and a desire to contribute to company growth.
What You’ll Be Doing- Designing and developing serverless solutions with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SQS, EventBridge, and DynamoDB.
- Enhancing and maintenance of consumer facing websites, online ordering, and website builder
- Collaborating across teams in migrating legacy systems to new golden path architecture
- Understand customer needs and pain points to ensure focus on the right priorities.
- Implementing both automated and manual testing to ensure production-ready code.
- Engaging in continuous learning to enhance technical and soft skills.
- Mentoring other engineers, participating in pair/mob programming, and conducting code reviews.
- Advocating for and implement automation and observability.
- Experience: 5+ years of development experience.
- Mandatory Technologies: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
- Advantageous Technologies: Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event-Driven Architectures (EDA), SST, and CDK.
- Full-Stack Capability: Ability and eagerness to work across the full stack, owning a vertical slice of the product.
- Cloud Experience: Experience with AWS or Azure, preferably using a serverless framework like AWS Lambda.
- Learning Agility: Ability to quickly adapt and learn new skills and knowledge, and leverage those learnings in a face-paced environment
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust across teams and clearly explain technical concepts.
- Mentorship: Experience mentoring engineers and fostering a strong engineering culture.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive problem-solver who thrives in ambiguity and can simplify complexity into pragmatic, scalable solutions.
- Promoting AI tools and capabilities: Hands-on experience using AI tools, and supporting your team in exploring, prototyping, and safely integrating AI into their workflows.
