The Marketing Tools group helps customers to connect and engage with their audiences. We provide easy-to-use, powerful-yet-simple tools to curate and segment their users and deliver them relevant, contextual messages. We know they aren’t marketing experts, so we make it as easy as possible through intelligent defaults, beautiful templates, and targeted guidance for them to communicate and grow their businesses. The Automations team is focused on enhancing our trigger-based email offerings, making it even easier to get the right message in front of customers at the right time.
This is a hybrid role working from our Dublin office 3 days per week. You will report to the Engineering Team Manager for the Automations team.
You'll Get To…
- Pioneer: Work in a recently greenfield codebase with the opportunity to establish foundational patterns and conventions.
- Build: Design and implement scalable, reliable systems that power automation features, connecting Squarespace customers to their audiences.
- Optimise: Ensure our systems are performant, fault-tolerant, and efficient while managing large-scale data flows.
- Collaborate: Partner with a group of motivated and enthusiastic engineers to build high-quality software that delights users and scales with their needs.
- Mentor: Provide guidance to engineers, promoting growth, learning, and a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Who We're Looking For
- You have 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering, with a solid foundation in designing and maintaining scalable systems, API development, and database management.
- You are comfortable working with modern backend technologies and frameworks.
- You’ve got experience talking tech with non-technical people, explaining complicated concepts in conversation and through written technical specifications, recognising the importance of understanding across teams and disciplines.
- You’re a vigorous proponent of descriptive automated testing and understand its importance in maintaining code quality and documenting intended functionality.
- You have experience mentoring engineers at different levels.
