The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer I to join Kargo’s Workflow team. In this role, you will contribute across the stack to design, build, and maintain applications that support Kargo’s internal workflows.

As a full-stack engineer, you will play a key role in delivering features end-to-end — from backend services and APIs to user-facing applications. This role is ideal for someone who has proven engineering experience, enjoys tackling complex challenges, and is looking to take the next step in technical depth and ownership.

The Daily To-Do

  • Full-Stack Development: Contribute to backend services, APIs, and frontend interfaces that power Kargo’s Workflow applications.
  • Feature Implementation: Work closely with Product, Design, and Ad Operations to turn requirements into reliable, scalable solutions.
  • Quality & Reliability: Write clean, maintainable, and testable code that meets performance and security standards.
  • Collaboration: Partner with peers across engineering and product/design to ensure smooth delivery of internal tools.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with industry trends and bring new ideas to improve team efficiency and product quality.

Code Reviews & Best Practices: Participate in code reviews and contribute to shared standards of engineering excellence.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Full-stack experience, with proficiency in both backend development (PHP, Go, Node.js, or similar) and frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
  • Solid understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL), distributed systems, and API design.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and maintainability.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
