Who you are:- Experienced Engineer: 5+ years of backend development experience, with deep expertise in Java and building scalable, service-oriented architectures.
- Pragmatic Thinker: Skilled at breaking down complex problems into practical, actionable solutions, prioritizing impact and maintainability over perfectionism.
- Data-Driven Decision Maker: Proficient in using metrics, logs, and analytics to guide technical decisions, from tool design to performance optimization.
- Tooling Enthusiast: Proven track record of developing developer tools, libraries, build tools such as maven or gradle, and frameworks that improve productivity and system reliability
- Infrastructure Savvy: Strong understanding of cloud-based infrastructure (AWS preferred) and containerized environments (Kubernetes).
- Problem Solver: Ability to design robust, maintainable solutions for complex technical challenges, with a focus on performance and developer experience.
- Team Player: Proactive, collaborative mindset with a passion for mentoring and sharing knowledge. Excellent communication skills in English.
- Customer-Centric: Commitment to delivering high-quality code that supports GetYourGuide’s mission of creating memorable travel experiences.
Bonus points for:
- Experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, or similar frameworks
- Experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems.
