Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions - to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we've embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes - large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We're building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.
The Role
We are looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to join our Third Party Response (3PR) team. You will focus on building, scaling, and maintaining data solutions that support external regulatory and compliance reporting. You will partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Engineering teams to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent delivery of data to regulators, auditors, and external partners.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of data, regulation, and business strategy, where your work directly contributes to maintaining trust with regulators and safeguarding Block's ability to operate in financial services.
You Will
  • Design, develop, and mainttain BI pipelines, dashboards, and reporting assets that support regulatory and external data reporting.
  • Partner with Product, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Engineering to translate regulatory requirements into clear data deliverables.
  • Ensure data integrity and auditability by establishing robust documentation, validation, and QA processes for all reporting.
  • Respond to ad-hoc regulatory requests and audits, balancing accuracy with speed under tight deadlines.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and Infrastructure teams to automate and scale recurring reporting processes, reducing reliance on manual work.
  • Contribute to a centralized reporting dictionary and knowledge base for regulatory deliverables.
  • Monitor changes in regulatory expectations and proactively adapt reporting approaches.
  • Provide insights and context around regulatory data to stakeholders, highlighting risks, anomalies, or trends.

You Have
  • 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Data Engineering
  • Background in financial services, fintech, or regulatory reporting
  • Expertise in SQL and large-scale data sets
  • Proficiency with BI/visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Mode, etc.)
  • Understanding of data modeling, ETL, and data warehouse concepts
  • Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages for automation
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (CFPB, FDIC) and experience supporting audits/exams
  • Experience working with Legal, Compliance, or Risk teams
