Together we invest for a better future. We do it to make a difference to the lives of our clients and customers, our employees, society, and our shareholders. Our business is structured around three distinct areas focused on our clients' changing needs: Aberdeen Investments, Aberdeen Adviser, and interactive investor.

As a Senior Product Tax Manager, you will play a key role in supporting this purpose while investing in your tomorrow through meaningful, high-impact work.

About the Department

The Public Market Taxes team provides tax advisory, governance and oversight across Aberdeen’s public market fund range, supporting UK, Luxembourg and Irish domiciled funds. Working closely with investment, product, distribution, finance, operations and legal colleagues, the team helps identify and manage tax risks while supporting strategic growth. The team combines technical expertise, collaboration and innovation to help enable our clients to be better investors.

About the Role

This is a highly visible senior role within Finance, reporting to the Head of Public Market Taxes. You will lead tax input into product development initiatives and provide specialist guidance on fund and investment tax matters across Aberdeen’s public market funds. The role offers significant autonomy to enhance processes, strengthen governance and develop AI-enabled solutions that improve efficiency and oversight. Working across multiple regions and stakeholder groups, you will help ensure tax obligations are met while identifying opportunities that support business growth. This role is available in Edinburgh, London or Dublin with Aberdeen’s blended working approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead tax oversight for fund launches, mergers, terminations and broader product development activities.
  • Provide technical tax support and practical solutions across Front Office, Distribution, Product, Finance, Operations and Legal teams.
  • Build strong relationships with external advisers, custodians and fund administrators to ensure effective tax governance and delivery.
  • Maintain and enhance tax risk, control and compliance frameworks across the fund range.
  • Drive adoption of AI-enabled and digital solutions that improve efficiency, oversight and tax knowledge management.
  • Lead or provide senior tax input into strategic projects involving funds, investments and investment management activities.

About the Candidate

  • Professional qualification such as CTA, ATT, ACA or ACCA.
  • Experience at Manager or Senior Manager level within asset management and product tax environments.
  • Ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Excellent digital and data literacy, including using AI-enabled tools.
  • A collaborative, adaptable and proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
