We’re seeking a Senior Competitive Intelligence (CI) Analyst to join MongoDB’s Product & Technical Marketing organization to drive competitive insights across multiple products or competitive domains. In this role, you will operate with a high degree of independence, owning CI initiatives end-to-end and influencing go-to-market strategy through clear, opinionated insights.
You’ll work closely with Product Marketing, Product Management, Sales, and Finance to identify competitive risks and opportunities, advise on positioning and messaging, and elevate MongoDB’s competitive narrative.
We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Dublin for our hybrid working model.
ResponsibilitiesCompetitive & Market Intelligence
- Own competitive analysis across multiple competitors, products, or market segments
- Conduct deep-dive comparisons and identify MongoDB differentiation across architecture, performance, and use cases
- Monitor market trends, emerging competitors, and shifts in buyer behavior
Strategic Content & Storytelling
- Develop high-impact CI assets, including battlecards, competitive narratives, executive briefs, and launch input
- Translate technical capabilities into messaging that resonates with developers, architects, and business decision-makers
- Influence positioning and messaging decisions through data-backed recommendations
Sales & GTM Partnership
- Act as a trusted CI partner to Sales and Product Marketing teams
- Support strategic deals and escalations with tailored competitive guidance
- Enable Sales leaders with insights on competitive dynamics and opportunity qualification
Cross-Functional Influence
- Partner with Product teams to feed competitive insights into roadmap and strategy discussions
- Serve as a subject-matter expert in internal reviews, enablement sessions, and planning meetings
- Mentor junior CI team members and raise the overall bar for CI execution
- Measurable influence on GTM strategy and competitive positioning
- Increased adoption of CI insights across Sales and Marketing
- Impact on win rates and revenue-driving initiatives
- Effectiveness and reach of CI content
- 3-6 years of experience in competitive intelligence, product marketing, or technical market analysis
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud platforms, application development, and modern data architectures
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders through clear insights and recommendations
- Strong technical acumen and ability to rapidly become a proficient hands-on user of MongoDB and competing products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to operate independently in moderately ambiguous environments
