Lead the strategy and product development for risk-related experiences at Square, ensuring seamless integration into seller interactions and product offerings.
Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions - to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we've embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes - large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We're building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.
The Role
The Risk organization builds the strategy, controls, and experiences necessary to enable Square's sellers to take principled risks in driving growth and innovation. As a Product Manager, Risk Experiences, you will lead the way in building seamless risk related experiences(identity verification, information gathering for credit assessment, business verification etc.) for the seller such that risk experiences feel a natural part of the seller's overall Square experience. You will build experiences that build trust among sellers and drive seller retention. You will be responsible for defining the multi-year product strategy for Square's Risk problems and driving product initiatives from inception through detailed execution. You will build consensus by collaborating closely with your cross functional partners, which includes engineers, product and content designers, machine learning engineers, data scientists, policy and operations. You will also influence leaders across Square who rely on your execution to achieve their goals. You will collaborate with other Product leaders to understand how Risk can support their needs, the technical dependencies, and shared goals to drive profitable growth for Square. You will ensure that the services, products, and features your team builds deliver maximum impact to Square and its sellers.
