What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Own technical strategy & roadmap for People Technology:  Create and communicate a multi-quarter roadmap that balances long-term architecture, platform capabilities, and short-term business priorities.

  • Define outcomes & measure impact:  Translate problems into clear outcomes and KPIs; ensure teams measure impact and learn from results.

  • Drive cross-team alignment and foster collaboration: Lead stakeholders across People (HR), engineering, platform, analytics, security and compliance to prioritise and deliver work that integrates with wider Wise initiatives.

  • Lead technical trade-offs and architecture decisions: Evaluate build vs buy vs integrate, define integration patterns (APIs/ETL/SSO), and ensure solutions meet scalability, reliability, security and compliance requirements.

  • Uplevel execution:  Improve delivery velocity, quality and observability by tightening planning, defining clear interfaces, and fostering product/program best practices.

  • Mentor & influence:  Coach engineers, PMs and stakeholders on product thinking, technical trade-offs and measuring value.

We are fully aware that it is uncommon for a candidate to have all skills required and we fully support everyone in learning new skills with us. So if you have some of those listed below and are eager to learn more we do want to hear from you!

  • Strong experience owning technical roadmaps and making architecture/integration decisions (APIs, identity/SSO, data model, vendor integrations).

  • Proven ability to define clear outcomes and KPIs and to drive teams to measurable impact.

  • Demonstrated success building partnerships across HR, engineering, analytics and compliance.

  • Excellent communicator who can explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence senior leaders.

  • Comfortable in ambiguity and experienced at structuring complex problem spaces into deliverable increments.

Nice to have

  • Experience with cloud architectures, knowledge of HCM/payroll vendors and HR data privacy regulations.

  • Experience with platform-as-a-product thinking, internal developer experience, or large-scale integration projects.
