Our Product Managers take a leading role in developing the products and propositions that we take to market, helping to shape the product vision, define the product roadmap and support our business units around the world with their expertise, consulting skills and by helping to build tools and collateral to support new product launches and go-to-market.

 

The role will be part of the Value Added Solutions (VAS) team working in our Payments business globally, the Product Manager will help to develop and then drive the product strategy for our Embedded Lending experiences. You should be able to spot commercial opportunities and market needs and be able to craft a vision to address these, and enjoy developing and bringing products to market.

 

You will join an experienced and diverse product team and the role will require working with teams across the whole world and across the many business units within Global Payments. 

 

Our ideal Product Manager has a clear focus on solving customer problems, and uses a mix of technical knowledge and commercial acumen to own that problem and drive the solution needed. The ideal candidate will also have a good understanding of user experience and product design and how these can significantly enhance the value of the products you own.

 

You will be expected to be able to fully understand what it takes to bring a solution to market, including the development, roll-out and integration of applications in this space, focusing on strategic alignment within the wider omnichannel merchant ecosystem.

Overview of the role: 

The role will include, but not be limited to:

 Product strategy:
  • Own and drive the vision for our Embedded Lending product stack, Evaluate the current proposition, establish both consumer and merchant demand and build a roadmap to solve customer problems and drive the prioritisation of these products.

  • Provide input on the strategy for our wider Value Added Solutions group

  • Managing the performance of your products in market, using customer feedback and product metrics to ensure that our products continue to meet the needs of customers, while identifying at early stages any enhancements required to meet market expectations

  • Continuously meet and speak with our customers and prospective customers to understand their needs and drivers 

  • Build this information to enhance your product vision using well documented product briefs to capture the ever changing needs of customers and drive the prioritisation of these enhancements through our roadmap.

  • Undertake market research and competitor analysis to find and communicate solutions to large/complex business challenges that maintain our competitive advantage.

  • Have an intense focus on user experience, and obsess about data and analytics.

  • Own the financial performance metrics for your product line and understand its performance in market, use financial data as well as other data points to drive decisions

 Product Delivery and Commercialization: 
  • Prioritise key initiatives in your product roadmap for delivery

  • Manage the product lifecycle, from conception through to product launch and ensuring that the go-to-market needs are met. Have a strong view of what commercialisation requires, and take an active role in ensuring a well structured commercialisation process is in place for your solutions.

  • Work closely with peers in sales, Customer Success and software engineering to create a bridge between the market and delivery, ensure excellent communication channels at all levels

  • Work side-by-side with business analysts, scrum-masters and development team leads to drive efficient and rapid delivery of product needs

  • Work side-by-side with user researchers and product designers to better understand your customers, their experiences and expectations and use design to help solve challenges.

  • Facilitate communication across the organisation to maintain alignment on the current product state and vision. Ensures key stakeholders are aware of impacts and prioritisation required.

  • Fully commercialise your product line so that operations teams, support teams, sales enablement, legal, privacy, etc are fully familiar with the solution, ready to sell it and to support our customers. Help train local teams in multiple markets.

 About you:

  • You should have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to dig into complex customer problems and be able to articulate them clearly and succinctly.

  • You should want to take full ownership of the product from end-to-end, including when problems crop up

  • You should value the power of data and use this to help you make decisions that take the product forward. Roadmap and priority decisions should be data driven and you should be comfortable explaining your position using data and analytics to back up your decision making. 

  • You collaborate to solve problems and can use relationships to gain input and trust from sales teams, customer success, technology and designers

  • You’re constantly looking at the market, at our competitors and how merchants are using technology to enable their sales strategies. 

  • You’re interested in continuous learning and development and are ambitious to grow your career at Global Payments.

 Qualifications and experience: 

The product manager will require:

  • 3-5 years product management experience or experience with starting up and running their own business

    • A knowledge of payments technologies is preferable but not essential

    • Experience within business focused on bringing customer facing products to market is preferable

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a business or technology field from a college or university, or comparable market experience or training

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with experience presenting up to senior executives (VP/SVP)

  • Self-motivated with a proven track record of delivering success while operating within a team environment

  • The ideal candidate would have experience working within payments, financial services or ecommerce and with an understanding of B2B lending from both a Merchant facing and Financial Institution facing perspective.
