Our Product Managers take a leading role in defining and developing the products and propositions that we take to market, helping to shape the product vision, define the product roadmap and support our business units around the world with their expertise, consulting skills and by helping to build tools and collateral to support new product launches and go-to-market.

The Product Manager - Developer Experience role will be the voice of developers that engage with Global Payments on the REST API platform. The goal is to define and deliver a world class developer experience for new and existing merchant and partner developers. 

Developer Experience encompasses a broad range of solutions across the Developer Portal, eCommerce plugins, SDKs, and APIs.

Our ideal Product Manager has a clear focus on understanding and solving developer problems, and uses a mix of technical knowledge and industry acumen to own those problems and drive the solution needed. The ideal candidate will also have a good understanding of developer experience and product design and how these can significantly enhance the value of the products and solutions that you own.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Gain a deep understanding of the systems and platforms within Global Payments, both existing and new.

  • Collaborate with engineering, applying agile methodology, to help determine the best technical implementation methods as well as a reasonable execution schedule.

  • Communicate the value of the product offering by producing market facing documentation and supporting sales and customer success teams in evangelising its features and benefits.

  • Support go to market efforts, ensuring that product features are well understood by stakeholders in product, marketing and sales.

  • Own and manage a product backlog, responsible for working with development teams to prioritise, make decisions and problem solve

  • Work closely with user researchers and product designers to help solve challenges and deliver a seamless inclusive developer experience.

  • Represent the voice of the customer in the product development process, ensuring that engineering teams understand the business context for concepts on our roadmap.

  • We work in a fast-moving, agile set-up, so expect to pitch in with other responsibilities from time to time also.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience of working with an API product or equivalent software product

  • Experience managing customer facing products and a keen eye for establishing and promoting customer needs.

  • Experience with developer focussed tools such as SDKs and Libraries, Developer Portals and GitHub is a plus.

  • Degree in Computing, or related field, or equivalent industry experience

  • Experience of designing processes to support and guide other teams

  • Technical aptitude and exceptional ability to pay close attention to key details in order to analyse, understand, validate and develop new product features

  • Self-motivated with a proven track record of delivering success while operating within a team environment

  • Highly organised with proven ability to work on cross-functional teams
