We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer who can help us forge the future of our product though inspired and engaging design, that helps empower our customers to achieve their goals.

About the role
Reporting to the OS MAPS Strategic Product Manager, you will lead the OS MAPS designers in the full product development lifecycle of consumer products.
Working with not only consumer and our third-party supplier, but also ensuring the alignment of business and customer needs, adherence to quality standard, and content management you’ll need to;
Lead & Manage a team of Designers who will support all aspects of the design & development lifecycle from research to implementation.
Work with the Strategic Product Manager to manage and monitor prioritisation of design resource requirements.
Generate hypotheses and plans for high-impact research and design change that helps us better understand our existing and potential customers and how to create a better product that solves their problems and meets their needs.
Work closely with Product Managers, Developers and other stakeholders to own and improve the end-to-end product design & user experience of OS Maps.
Continue to develop a robust design system to guide our development team
Generate first-class concepts, visuals and creative designs that are used in the ongoing development of the OS MAPS product.
Deliver design assets used to direct the development of products and campaigns.
Develop analytics funnels that make sure our qualitative insights are also enhanced by robust quantitative analysis whenever possible and run some basic quantitative analysis.
Identify actionable design improvement through both research and industry design standards and principles.
Map user journeys that are passed onto design to ensure ease of use in product
What we’re looking for
First and foremost, we’re looking for a team member who is able to compliment our amazing Product and Design team and engage fully with our development team. We want to learn from you as much as we want you to learn from us.
But of course you need the skills so ideally you have a minimum of;
A strong UX design portfolio with examples of a clear UX design process.
Knowledge of web and mobile industry best practices, design standards and application positioning.
Knowledge of user-centred research, copywriting interactive development and content strategy
Experience of managing a team.
Proficiency in Design Software: Mastery of tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Sketch, Figma, and Adobe XD
Prototyping: Ability to create interactive prototypes to test and validate design concepts.
Visual Communication: Expertise in conveying ideas and information through visually compelling designs.
Strong analytical skillset including experience identifying when/where data insight is required, able to define and analyse data points (e.g. via web analytics), to generate unique insights and recommendations.
Experience in digging for customer needs/motivations via in-depth interviews, as you will be evaluating pain-points and opportunities via testing of existing products and experiences
It would be great, but not essential if you also had;
HTML/CSS/JavaScript: Basic knowledge of front-end development can be beneficial for collaborating with developers.
Secondary level education (NQF level 3, A Level, BTEC or equivalent)
An understanding of the Product Development Lifecycle.

Salary – £54,000.00 - £63,000.00 (dependent on experience)

Location: We embrace a hybrid working model at OS and understand there is no one size fits all in relation to how we work. We have a fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire where you will be based and required to spend 1-2 days a month at OSHQ.
