Senior Product Designer
Hybrid Working

Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Up to £55k depending on experience.

About the role.
We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our Innovation team. We want you to be confident nurturing, refining and testing ideas, and to use design and creativity to bring them to life.
You’ll be part of a talented, multi-disciplinary team shaping the future of health and wellbeing. You’ll be rapidly generating and testing new ideas and innovating experiences.
You’ll also be a part of a passionate and talented experience design community. You will work alongside user researchers and content designers to create the best experiences for Bupa’s customers in the UK.
You’ll provide mentorship and support to other Product Designers. You’ll facilitate development, encourage growth and foster a culture of care and candour.
What will you achieve?
Creative ideation. You will work with people from across Bupa to facilitate the creation and refinement of innovative ideas.
Rapid testing. You’ll be testing concepts, prototypes ideas with real people, and analysing your findings.
Customer-centric designs. Creating high-fidelity prototypes and iterating based on user feedback. Ensuring our solutions meet real customer needs.
Enhancing UX strategy. Contribute to and improve our existing UX toolkit & playbooks. Help other parts of the business to adopt our culture of customer centricity.
Stakeholder inclusion. Building strong relationships with stakeholders by welcoming them into the design process.
Design system. Supporting and enhancing our design system, ‘Anatomy'. Ensuring consistency and quality across all products.
Building team culture. Supporting the pillars of our culture; psychological safety, celebrating success, and learning from each other.
Mentoring. You will mentor, coach and inspire other members of the experience design team.
Discipline visibility. You will contribute to playbacks, design crits and other communities of practice sessions. You will enable constructive feedback and elevate the quality of the craft.
Who are we looking for?

Proactive innovator. A creative self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Visual design skills. You have a strong portfolio and a track record of designing delightful experiences.
Proficient prototype. Skilled in creating high-fidelity prototypes that bring ideas to life. Built to the appropriate level to gain customer feedback.
Strong problem-solving skills. The ability to think critically and creatively.
Comfortable with ambiguity. A self-starter who can identify problems and ideate to drive things forward.
Customer advocate. Passionate about understanding and addressing customer needs.
Discovery researcher. Research experience with the ability to perform rapid testing. Working with research peers to quickly gain insight and iterate.
Comfortable working in quick cycles. Up to 12 weeks to design, prototype and test ideas. Happy to pass functional ideas over to other teams, and to pause and rethink ideas if they’re unsuccessful.
Facilitator. Able to bring stakeholders together in a workshop, extract information and use this to define a direction.
Design thinker. A deep understanding of user needs, a willingness to explore ideas and use a ‘test and learn’ approach.
Storyteller. Capable of constructing narratives to influence and engage stakeholders and peers through storytelling.
A champion for accessibility. Acknowledging the needs of users with different backgrounds, abilities, cultures, and environments. Proficiency in designing to WCAG 2.2 AA standards is required to ensure all digital products meet accessibility requirements and regulatory compliance.
Accustomed to working in an FCA regulated business is a bonus.
Adept in managing complexity across several streams of work.
