We’re looking for a Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator to provide senior-level technical expertise across our PostgreSQL estate, ensuring the performance, scalability, security, and resilience of our mission-critical data platforms. This role is central to shaping database strategy, leading cloud migrations, and driving operational excellence across global, high-availability systems.
What it takes to succeed:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in database administration with advanced, hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL.
- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL architecture, internals, and operational management within enterprise environments.
- Deep experience in PostgreSQL performance tuning, query optimization, and schema design at scale.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native PostgreSQL services, particularly AWS RDS Aurora and GCP CloudSQL/AlloyDB.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting for PostgreSQL operations using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL backup, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery concepts.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL ecosystem tools such as pgBadger, pgPool, and pgBouncer.
- Strong knowledge of database security, access controls, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication with the ability to influence and guide technical teams.
- A strategic, continuous-improvement mindset with strong ownership and accountability.
